Recreation Media & Digital Post Services Innovate Post Funding For Independent Projects |  
L-R: Ariel Veneziano and Ryan Noto | Los Angeles-based Recreation Media, a sales company, and Digital Post Services (DPS), a post-production laboratory, have entered into an innovative partnership to offer complete post-production funding for selected independent projects.
The partnership is seeking to get involved in 3 to 7 feature film and television projects a year at any stage of pre-production through completion, with DPS covering post-production and Recreation Media handling international sales.
Recreation Media founder Ariel Veneziano said: "We are really excited to be partnering with Ryan and a top-notch post house like DPS to offer this unique combination of services under one roof.”
Ryan Noto, President of Digital Post Services, said, "We can offer full services in post from digital or film capture through to digital or film delivery. Services include: complete sound mixes, color correction, visual effects and deliverables. By working with producers in covering post on their projects, we can help relieve the pressure on finding that final funding to cover post-production and ensure that every dime ends up on the screen.”
The first project being supported through the partnership is Jason and the Necronauts starring Casper Van Dien. Currently in pre-production, the film is written and directed by Kevin VanHook, whose directing credits include the Sci-fi channel movies The Fallen Ones, Voodoo Moon, Slayer and Death Row. VanHook also created special effects for Hollywood blockbusters such as I, Robot, Daredevil and Miss Congeniality. An action fantasy film, Jason and the Necronauts has already been pre-sold to MIG for Germany, Zylo for France, Daro for Eastern Europe, Ram Indo for Indonesia, and CIS, Sahamongkol for Thailand.

Recreation Media is active in international sales and management consulting in the film and television industries. Recreation's slate at Cannes includes Jason and the Necronauts starring Casper Van Dien (director Kevin VanHook), Easy Rider The Ride Back (director Dustin Rikert), and Two Gates of Sleep (director Alistair Banks Griffin). The company is also selling documentary features including We Were Here (director David Weissman), How To Start Your Own Country (director Jody Shapiro), and Rock Prophecies (director John Chester).
Digital Post Services (DPS)
DPS is a post-production and duplication service company, based in Los Angeles and with a facility in Louisiana. DPS offers a one-stop shop for sound, editing, laboratory and audio post-production as well as visual effects production and management of worldwide film deliverables.
