AFM 2010: “Easy Rider: The Ride Back”

Blasts into Santa Monica with the cult classic sequel

Hollywood, CA (Hollywood Today) 10/28/10 – Strap on your helmets Santa Monica, “Easy Rider: The Ride Back” is roaring in next week to rev up the launch of AFM 2010.

“Easy Rider” defined the thoughts and values of a generation. In a long awaited continuation the original Easy Rider film, one of the highest grossing independents of all time, “Easy Rider: The Ride Back” picks up where the cult classic left off. Produced by Pan America Pictures, “Easy Rider: The Ride Back” follows the legendary road rebels search for America as they embark on a journey to confront their past and face dark family secrets, discovering freedom through the thrill of the road.

The film stars Jeff Fahey of “Grindhouse” and “Lost,” alongside Sheree J. Wilson of “Walker, Texas Ranger” and “Dallas” and breakout stars like Y&R heartthrob Chris Engen and Michelle Borth of hit Hawaii Five-O.” Also featured is “Angels and Demon’s” Rance Howard, “The Proposal’s” Michael Nouri and hot newcomer Thomas Blakenship and introducing Phil Pitzer as Morgan Williams.

Cast, filmmakers, the original Captain America Bike, and beautiful biker girls will be part of a photo-opp facing the beach on Appian Way in front of the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel on Wednesday, November 3, at 12:00 pm. Exclusive buyer screening will follow at AMC Santa Monica #3 at 1:00 pm.

Ariel Veneziano of Recreation announced their handling International sales for the film as part of its developing partnership with Level 33 Entertainment. “Easy Rider: The Ride Back” marks the first collaboration between the two companies.

Veneziano commented, “This is a fun, original take on the original cult classic. We are thrilled to join the ride, along with our partners at Level 33, on this exciting and highly commercial picture.”

Recreation’s AFM 2010 line up also includes Jody Shapiro’s Toronto Film Festival “How To Start Your Own Country,” Alistair Banks Griffith’s “Two Gates of Sleep” which is having its US Premiere at the AFI film festival, and, in collaboration with Menemsha Films, Czech Academy Award® entry “Kawasaki Rose.”
