Ariel Veneziano's boutique sales outfit Recreation has announced the acquisition of Cannes Directors' Fortnight entry "Two Gates of Sleep."

The U.S. pic receives its world preem at Cannes on May 18 and, as it is helmer Alistair Banks Griffin's first feature, it is eligible for the Camera d'Or.
Shot entirely on location in Louisiana and the Mississippi delta, the film tells the story of two brothers who embark on an arduous journey upriver following their mother's death in order to honor her final request.
Starring Brady Corbet, David Call and Karen Young, the pic is produced by Josh Mond and Andrew F. Renzi. Exec producers are Antonio Campos and Sean Durkin.
The pickup marks the first collaboration between L.A.-based Recreation and Borderline Films, the Gotham shingle run by Campos, Durkin and Mond.
Veneziano, who has held senior management positions at Alliance Atlantis, GreeneStreet Films and Icon Prods., launched Recreation at Berlin's European Film Market in February.
